The Opportunity In this permanent full-time position based in Adelaide, you will be responsible for developing scope and specifications, detailed engineering design, review and validation of designs, development of design standards and providing specialist technical advice support across a broad range of projects including connections of generators (renewables and conventional), battery energy storage systems, major loads as well as replacement of existing infrastructure to ensure the network remains reliable.
Success in this role is characterised by the ability to apply mature engineering knowledge, mentoring and supervising others, independently planning and conducting work on multiple projects simultaneously and developing successful working relationships with stakeholders for the achievement of Electra Net business and performance objectives.
About You As a senior and/or experienced automation engineer, you will have: Approximately 6 to 10 years of relevant work experience with Substation Automation.
Bachelor's degree in the field of Electrical Engineering or relevant disciplines.
Ability to produce automation and control device (IED) settings and configuration files.
Knowledge and experience of SCADA/Substation Automation Systems and Architecture.
Knowledge of DNP3 and IEC 61850 substation network communication standards.
Experience in SCADA/Substation Automation System construction and commissioning.
Knowledge of legislated industry requirements.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders to resolve technical problems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to enable you to provide commercially sound and pragmatic solutions.
