Robert Half is excited to partner with a leading organisation in seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant for a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health by handling essential accounting duties and administrative tasks.
This role is looking to start ASAP to ensure a handover and will see you responsible for:
1. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and conduct financial analysis under the guidance of the Finance Team Leader.
2. Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reports.
3. Contribute to statutory reporting requirements.
4. Generate regular financial reports and provide detailed information to the finance team.
5. Reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
6. Manage On/Off Hire processing and invoicing.
7. Verify financial statements, ledgers, and accounts, and correct discrepancies as needed.
8. Process and prepare fortnightly payroll.
9. Compile and submit BAS returns.
10. Engage with various accounting projects and support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Your Profile:
11. Educational Background: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
12. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Dynamics 365 is a plus.
13. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed financial reports.
14. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for accuracy and ability to identify discrepancies.
15. Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
16. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
