Hours: 8.30am – 5.15pm (Mon- Thurs)8.30am – 4.00pm (Fri) Salary: Competitive Salary Department: Technical Report to: Technical Manager/Technical Director Location: Head Office, Ewloe Department Scope: The role of the Technical Department in the Homes Division is to provide a practical and cost-effective technical service to the Division. This will encompass site evaluation, architectural and engineering design, and the investigations of any technical problems encountered and provision of economical and viable solutions. This may involve liaison with appointment of and co-ordination of external professionals. The Technical Department are involved with the Anwyl product from inception to completion. Scope: The pre-development section of the engineering department ensures that technical support and due diligence of roads, sewers, ground and levels etc are considered and approved by the appropriate bodies to the required standards, and that all engineering aspects on the upcoming developments are executed proactively and effectively in line with the business's goals and objectives. To provide a link between the Technical, Land and Commercial departments on engineering matters/land viabilities. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical support and information/due diligence to land, commercial and technical departments during the land bidding/viability process. Review engineering design strategies to ensure their cost effectiveness and buildability, along with progressing to appointment of detailed design. Assist the Technical and Commercial departments in issuing tender drawings to contractors, assessing them upon return and engaging with pre-award meetings/handing over to the delivery team. Liaising with the departments Design Manager and Utilities Co-ordinator during the due diligence process to inform designs. Liaising with statutory bodies to ensure designs are deliverable and achieve the required permissions/approvals needed to deliver the developments. Check and co-ordinate information from external consultants on engineering related details. Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety and Environment Policy. At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions. Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation's goals and enhancing the reputation of the company. In liaison with the Commercial Department, ensure fees and services budgets, appraisals, cost plans and viabilities are prepared to ensure the project meets the Group's and the Company's financial criteria and ensuring variances to budget are reported.
