Key Responsibilities: Oversee food production, ensuring meals meet high standards of quality and safety. Manage food orders, plating, and menu selections. Train apprentices and provide guidance to catering staff. Maintain food storage, correct handling, and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines. Liaise with procurement offices to manage food orders and supplies. Contribute to ongoing review, development, and implementation of procedures. What We’re Looking For: Trade qualifications or equivalent experience as a Cook. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to engage with staff at all levels. Flexible with work schedules and able to manage staff and priorities. Experience in preparing bulk meals and dietary-specific cooking. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse cultures and backgrounds. Working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, managing stock levels, IDDSI, staff supervision and allergen management (highly desirable) A passion for working as a chef/cook in Aged Care & Health Care Can bring innovative ideas for diverse menu selections, and presentation ideas for patients with complex meal / diet requirements.
