The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels. The Sexual Assault and Forensic Examination (SAFE) Service provides a 24-hour, 7 days per week service for children, young people, and adults in the North with alleged sexual assault and/or domestic/family violence incidents.
The team consists of Clinical Nurse Consultants with relevant post-graduate qualifications in the field of sexual assault and forensic evidence gathering. The SAFE Service is part of Women's and Children's Services Hospitals North, which offers regular professional development opportunities and Clinical Supervision within work hours.
The Role:
An advanced clinical practitioner providing forensic and physical examinations for alleged victims of sexual assault, ensuring the collection and documentation of evidence is in accordance with policies and evidentiary requirements.
Details of appointment:
Fixed term, part time, day worker (with on-call), working up to 8 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date until 12 July 2025. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Midwife.
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
* Holds or is working towards a post-graduate qualification in the area of sexual assault forensic and medical examination.
