Position Overview
Become a vital part of our Cairns multidisciplinary Allied Health Services team at the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre. This state-of-the-art facility offers a comprehensive range of Allied Health services, including a rehabilitation gym and indoor hydrotherapy pool.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough client assessments to understand and address their physical needs.
* Trial and recommend appropriate equipment to optimize client functionality.
* Prepare and manage funding applications to secure essential assistive technology and supports.
* Advocate for clients' personal support needs and assist with funding applications.
* Provide expert advice on equipment and lifestyle management, including pressure area care.
* Complete assessments for home modifications and submit detailed reports.
* Empower individuals through tailored strategies and advocate for their lifestyle choices.
* Deliyer hands-on upper limb therapy in both individual and group settings.
Requirements
* Current AHPRA registration and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate caseloads independently.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proven track record of achieving high-level outcomes for clients.
* Experience working with individuals with Spinal Cord Injury or physical disabilities preferred.
* Familiarity with fee-for-service environments is advantageous.
