Dental Hygienist Or OHT - EMS Airflow Hygiene/Ortho/Kids Scope (New Grads Welcome) Ballarat Family Dental is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our team.If you are an Oral Health Therapist who enjoys the scope of orthodontics, hygiene/perio, and dental whitening, we want to hear from you too!We also have plenty of kids at our practice for you to see.We are a 9-year-old dental practice that moved into a larger, purpose-built building in late 2022.Our main source of patients is from word-of-mouth referrals.We are located on the west side of Ballarat, in Lucas, and hope to hire a hygienist or OHT who will live in Ballarat or the surrounding area and be a part of the community.When you join our practice, you will enjoy our modern facilities and equipment and collaborate with an experienced team with great systems already in place.Due to our busy hygiene books, we need another hygienist to join our team and implement our current philosophies to better serve our patients.Our team is passionate about periodontal health discussions, which form the foundation of all oral health.We spend a great deal of time educating our patients about the importance of maintaining healthy gums.With the GBT method, our oral health therapist coaches our patients to take their gum health seriously.Within our orthodontic program, there will be some exposure to fixed orthodontics, but most cases will be aligner therapy.You will be a part of the orthodontic journey of our patients, including taking photos as part of the orthodontic records and putting on and removing attachments/buttons.If you have had no prior experience in orthodontics, we can provide training.You will work with a dental assistant shared between yourself and the existing oral health therapist, who will help with photo uploads, x-ray setups, changeovers, chart recordings, and basic note-taking.Currently, our team has 5 dentists, full and part-time, and we hope to continue growing our practice over time as we have the capacity for 9 full-time chairs along with 1 purpose-built, GA facility equipped treatment room.What we expect of the successful candidate: Reliable self-starter capable of leading your own treatment team Sound understanding of periodontal disease and its management Sound understanding of caries risk assessment and its application Ability to produce high-quality work, including successful subgingival calculus removal and sharpening your own instruments Ability to refer work back to the patient's dentist when required Ability to effectively educate patients on their oral health status and provide bespoke, sustainable solutions Humility to self-reflect, learn, and collaborate with the team Passion to apply evidence-based dentistry You must have your own radiation license to take Lateral Cephs and OPGs.The successful full-time candidate is required to work 4-5 weekdays a week.A salary with a commission structure will be discussed with the right candidate.Visa sponsorship for overseas candidates can be considered for the right person.New grads are welcome to apply, and mentorship will be provided.We don't have a specific start date; we are simply looking for the right person to join our hardworking, fun team to help look after our patients.If this position sounds like something you are keen to be a part of or want to know more about, please apply or get in touch with us immediately!Your application will include the following questions: How many years' experience do you have as a Dental Hygienist?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?Are you currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)? #J-18808-Ljbffr
