We are looking for an enthusiastic Publicist to join our Launch team based in North Sydney starting February 2025. Be part of the team of marketers, publicists and designers who help connect books with readers when they first hit the shelves. Responsibilities include:
Develop, implement and manage innovative publicity campaigns for a range of Australian and international authors.
Use your ability to identify angles and strategies to effectively promote and publicise books and authors across all media platforms and use a broad range of communication including press releases, pitching, and content marketing.
Co-monitoring the publicity email, as well as assisting with team reporting when needed.
Being able to communicate, with ease, to a range of stakeholders including international colleagues, internal departments, authors, agents, event organisers and media.
Organise and manage author events with key partners, individually and as part of wider tour strategies.
Representing Penguin Random House at varying events, including meetings, and presentations.
Setting up a variety of interviews and addressing ad hoc requests for a range of Penguin Random House titles across the local and international lists.
You are:
A creative and clear thinker with exceptional organisational skills, an ability to multitask and react quickly to opportunities.
Able to adapt to new systems proficiently.
Manage multiple projects at one time and have a proven ability to facilitate strong relationships across a range of stakeholders.
Able to identify a range of media angles applicable to a variety of mediums.
Passionate about books and reading, with a strong understanding of national and regional print, broadcast, and online media.
Creative, enthusiastic, and able to work under pressure.
You will ideally have 1-2 years of experience in a similar Publicist role, and an understanding of national and regional print, broadcast and online media. You will have a passion for books and reading and have a keen interest in/knowledge of Australian new and emerging media.
