Job Summary:
The Asset Management Accountant plays a key role in supporting the project finance and asset management team.
The primary responsibilities include managing the asset accounting process, ensuring accurate capitalisations, disposals, and reconciliations, and providing project finance reports to key stakeholders such as the Project Investment Committee (PIC), Senior Responsible Officers, and Project Managers.
Key Duties:
Undertake end-of-month/year asset processes, including AUC journals, project settlement, depreciation run, and asset management table.
Manage stocktake, capitalisation, disposal, and impairment activities.
Manage drawdown of capital appropriation.
Maintain the Asset Management Policy.
Maintain month-end balance sheet reconciliations and resolve queries.
Provide invoice coding and guidance for capital and maintenance purchases.
Assist in audit preparation and process/system improvements.
To be Successful, You Will Have:
Extensive experience in an asset management-related role and a comprehensive knowledge of government asset management processes, procedures, and practices.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to provide technical advice and guidance.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to think strategically and resolve complex issues.
Strong Excel skills and experience using SAP for asset management functions.
Completed or working towards tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting (highly desirable).
Completed or working towards post-graduate qualifications (CPA/CA) (highly desirable).
