About the role A great opportunity exists for an ambitious Credit Officer to become part of our Finance Team based in Castle Hill Head Office. As a Credit Officer, you will play a key role in assessing and managing the credit risk of our lending portfolio while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Credit Risk Assessment: Evaluate and analyse credit applications and financial statements to assess risk and creditworthiness of individuals and businesses.Credit Decisioning: Make informed recommendations on credit limits, loan terms, and conditions based on risk analysis and company guidelines.Customer Account Set up: Customer Masterfile maintenance- adds/moves/changes/requests/reporting.Collections: Timely collection of outstanding payments, and debt maintenance. Resolution of difficult cases by consulting with financial counsellors, solicitors, and parties required.Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on credit performance and portfolio status for senior managementReceivables Management: Allocation of payments and reconciliation of customer accounts. Handling customer enquiries. Daily bank receipts. Compliance & Regulations: Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices regarding credit risk management.Other Financial Accounting Tasks: Involvement in financial tasks as directed. Handling service line improvement initiatives and relationship management. Our ideal candidate will possess: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) will be an advantage. Strong administrative, procedural skills and problem-solving skills.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a credit-related role, preferably in banking, financial institutions, or credit rating agencies.Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and risk management frameworks.Proficiency with credit scoring models, financial analysis tools, and relevant software.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a meticulous eye for detail.A team player who demonstrates initiative and integrity.Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.Competent with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT.Experience with a large ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar will be highly beneficial.
