Description:
As a L3 consultant, this position will work with the Distributed Training Centre (DTC), leading the development and implementation of simulation software and network for the Navy Fleet Battle Lab. This position will work closely with an experienced team that manages the same simulation software for the DTC, enabling them to develop the system for the Navy. There may be an opportunity for the position to move to Sydney from July 2025 for the installation and setup.
Requirements
1. Configuration baseline to enable efficient integration of the DTC into the Exercise network by the assigned need date.
2. Simulation software/network technical support with complex engineering systems.
3. Integration of components, systems, and sub-systems including new acquisitions.
4. Undertake system modelling and develop system architecture using digital software and tools.
5. Documentation and maintenance of configuration status (baselining documentation with system configuration).
6. Establishing and implementing change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and successful changes to the network infrastructure.
7. Modification of the system architecture comprising of hardware, software, network protocol, and documentation suite/s to enable Capability enhancements in accordance with the event schedule.
8. System administrator responsibilities including but not limited to failure mode analysis and resolution as well as operator access for the purposes of event conduct.
9. The provision of systems administration support including service pack releases, patches, hot fixes, and security configuration.
10. Facilitation and coordination of Test and Evaluation to support integration of distributed training connections across multiple Australian Defence Force Units and coalition partners through implementation of repeatable processes.
11. Support maintenance of ICT Security accreditation in accordance with ISSM.
12. Exercise support including efficient and effective engineering/technical support to synthetic and blended exercises.
13. Monitoring DTC systems performance, system resource utilisation, and capacity ensuring availability and reliability.
14. Obsolescence management, ensuring issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
15. Support coaching, mentoring, and advice to RAAF personnel and other system users.
16. The DTC conducts multiple exercises including during US time zones, which means tasking is from midnight until morning.
