About the role
Our Coles Distribution Centres play an important role moving quality products through our supply chain, to provide extraordinary shopping experiences for our customers.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will supervise and roster our Quality Inspector Team who conduct reviews of our inbound chilled and fresh produce deliveries. You will ensure adequate chamber and product coverage, plus timely and accurate inspections to protect the Coles Brand.
This role will include rotational out of hours support to aid the Quality Manager in 24/7 management coverage.
You'll also:
* Conduct quality inspections/activities in line with business standards and relevant procedures
* Communicate inspection outcomes to quality and commercial teams including following up reviews where relevant
* Ensure quality control operations support the Distribution Centre DILO as required, including additional support for planned and unplanned maintenance
About you and your skills
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a food or related industry in quality assurance position
* Experience in team management
* Previous experience working in a controlled atmosphere environment (preferred)
* Degree in Food Science or similiar (preferred)
* Sound knowledge of quality principles; knowledge of fresh chilled/fresh produce quality (preferred)
* Strong communicator that can influence great outcomes
* Ability to work with various stakeholders
