With a total of 162 Nordex Delta 4000-N163/5.7 turbines and 924MW total output, the MacIntyre Wind Farm will be Nordex’s biggest single wind farm facility globally and one of the largest onshore wind farms in the world. The project will generate enough renewable energy to power over 700,000 households with almost 3 million tons of CO2 avoided, as well as provide significant economic activity across the Goondiwindi, Southern Downs and Toowoomba Regional Council areas. About the Roles There are currently 15 opportunities to join the team with the recruitment starting NOW with the full team established by early 2025. Opportunities for both experienced wind technicians and local A-Grade Electricians/Mechanically qualified candidates looking to enter the industry. Local candidates only within commutable distance from the project. Reporting directly to the Lead Technicians, you will be part of the core team of service technicians who will ensure that operations and maintenance work is executed safely, to a high standard and with minimal downtime. The Service Technician’s responsibilities are commissioning, fault clearance as well as maintenance of the wind turbines. The roles are based on site full time at the MacIntyre Wind Farm, near Warwick, QLD. Responsibilities Analyse defects with phone-contact to service coordinator Autonomous simple repairs of turbines, troubleshooting and fault-finding Carry out complex repair processes in collaboration with the Lead Technician With subcontractors, carry out planned maintenance / inspection activities of turbines for compliance with technical specifications and regulations Collecting data and performing tests Fill in reports and checklists in order to completely inform Local Operation Manager Inform customer in case of works on the turbine Carry out repair or exchange of main components Check inventory of spare parts stock and be responsible for material on site Standard monitoring of booked service reports and steering of service process to book expenses correctly Guarantee that tasks are realized with high quality and on time Realization of tasks in the most economical way Responsible for material, tools and property Carry out tasks in accordance with manuals and regulations; and Keep all H&S related instructions and guidelines and work safety for material and personnel.
