About the role
An opportunity exists in our Health Information Department for a motivated person with excellent customer service to join our team.
The primary role of the Health Information Clerk will be the accurate and timely identification of patients in the Patient Administrative System (PAS) – TrakCare, including maintenance of patient demographic details and patient movements within WDHS to ensure the completion of administrative requirements for medical record management, patient movements and Emergency attendances within WDHS.
The successful applicant will need to be a team player and enjoy working with other departments within the organisation. Confidentiality protocols & privacy principles of the Health Records and Information Privacy Acts are required to be maintained at all times.
Duties include collation and filing of Emergency Department presentation and discharged client's documentation, answering of general enquiries, release of information in response to requests from other health services, assistance with scanning and filing of documentation, compiling of medical records, processing after hours admissions, and ensuring the admission paperwork and demographic details are updated on the PAS.
The interested applicant would need to have a strong understanding of confidentiality and ensure all protocols and privacy principles of the Health Records and Information Privacy Acts are maintained at all times.

The successful candidate must have or obtain a National Criminal Police Check. Depending on the role, a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check, and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check may also be required.
