About the Division / Team
Our Hunter Valley network primarily services the Hunter Valley coal chain – the world’s largest thermal coal export operation – by providing an efficient and reliable rail transportation system between mines and the Port of Newcastle.We manage the movement of around 250 trains per day on our network. Around half of these being coal trains and the other half comprised of passenger services, as well as grain, general intermodal, and other bulk freight trains.

About You
If you think you will enjoyworking outdoors in the picturesque Hunter Valley and Mid-Western region ofNSW, this opportunity is too good to pass up. There are a variety of differentlocations throughout this region to call home, all of which are a relativelyshort commute to the centralised Provisioning Centre in Muswellbrook. If yourinterests include sport, lifestyle hobby farming, fishing, camping or 4wd’ing,this region has it all.
To ensure success in thisposition, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
1. A deep commitment to safety with a proactive attitude to challenge and improve existing practices.
2. Possession of a valid electrical licence.
3. Willingness to pursue and complete a Cert IV in Rail Signalling.
4. Proven ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member, ensuring effective contributions to the group's success.
5. Demonstrated experience in fault identification, maintenance, and proficient repair skills.
6. Strong written and oral communication skills, complemented by adeptness with computer systems.
7. A readiness to travel within the Hunter Valley region and an eagerness to accommodate overtime as required by ARTC.
8. Possession of a Class C driver’s license.
