Swift Metal Services is now seeking experienced and qualified CNC/METAL MACHINIST to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.
To be considered for the role you will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:
Able to interpret technical/engineering drawings and verbal and written instructions.
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
Use handheld tools and power tools to make and repair parts and products.
Identify any defective items and handle accordingly to established procedures.
Service and maintain the equipment in the machine shop to a high standard, including regular pre-start inspections and housekeeping.
Machine pins, spacers, bushes, hydraulic rams to repair.
Strip and repair a hydraulic cylinder, including machining new components to replace damaged parts.
Fabricate special tools to assist in the repair of plant and machinery.
Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Perform routine and corrective maintenance, machining & project work in a heavy engineering or mining environment in a safe, legal and effective manner.
Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, solution-focused attitude.
Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to carry out work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.
