Osborne Richardson love working with our partners in NSW State Government and offering these great roles to the construction/building community across the State. On this occasion, are seeking a Construction Inspector for our colleagues in the NSW Department of Land and Housing, based in Central Sydney.
In your new role, you will be aiming for a December or January start before progressing until June 30th 2025. After the initial contract phase, we do expect extensions to this role to be on offer but can't guarantee this until budgets are finalised for 2025/26. As the Construction Project Inspector, you will undertake a variety of duties, with a significant on-site component, where you will utilise your strong background in building, construction and contract management. On any given day, your overall work balance will look something like this:
• Scoping and managing a range of projects including Relocations, Redevelopment sites, Modifications and LGC.
• Ongoing communication and collaboration with all Stakeholders including Homes NSW, AHO, External Contractors and other Business units
• Day to Day management of projects including continual Work In Progress Inspections, performance measuring against established standards and contractor engagement
• Proactive approach to large scale vacant redevelopment sites, monitoring potential risks, using mitigation techniques were required
This role required a solid, hard-working, specialist in the building scene to take each project and ensure everything is “as agreed” in the supplier contracts. In this respect, we would ask you to ensure you hold the following key skills and experience, as a minimum:
1. Proven building/maintenance experience or exposure, along with experience in contract administration, including the preparation of scopes
2. Familiarity with contract requirements, standards, and policies, coupled with the ability to interpret and apply these effectively.
