Our Vehicle Workshop plays a critical role within the Maintenance department as without them the wheels on our buses would not go round and round!
This team are committed to keeping all our company vehicles and plant equipment in tip top shape, safe and running smoothly.
A rare opportunity now exists for a qualified Diesel Fitter to join our passionate team.
Reporting to our Workshop Manager, your role will see you carry out general maintenance and repairs of all heavy vehicles and plant equipment on Hamilton Island .
The successful candidate will have the flexibility to live on Island OR commute daily from nearby Airlie Beach.
Your Benefits Full time permanent role on island Subsidised furnished staff accommodation Staff perks - discounts on restaurants and activities including $15 per week gym membership Fantastic work culture and supportive community On your days off go fishing, diving, hiking and exploring our beautiful region Your Role Carry out general maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles and plant equipment Prioritise and attend to urgent repairs of any description Maintain a clean work environment at all times Responsible for the maintenance and security of all tools which are the property of HIE Perform any other duties as requested by the Supervisor or Workshop Manager Ensure safe operation of equipment is maintained at all times About You Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical or equivalent (Essential) Previous experience of buses, trucks, heavy earth moving plant, cranes and generating equipment (Essential) Minimum 5 years post trade experience (Essential) Current HR Drivers licence (Essential) Ability to be approved for and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) (Essential) If you have a Forklift Licence we would be very impressed
