About the opportunity
Join us as the leader of Animal Welfare Policy Program and make a profound impact in shaping the animal welfare strategic direction and legislation in Western Australia and Australia. You will lead a team dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of animals and ensuring the effectiveness of the Animal Welfare legislation. You will provide strategic guidance to address animal welfare priorities, engage with stakeholders, and position WA as a leader in animal welfare outcomes. The successful person will have strong leadership, excellent policy and legislation knowledge, and excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills and experience. We currently have one permanent - full time position with flexible work arrangements available for immediate filling.
We are looking for individuals with:
1. Proven leadership experience with knowledge of animal welfare policy, research and regulation.
2. Extensive experience in the design, development, and coordination of strategic policy initiatives
3. Ambition, self-motivation and drive to enhance animal welfare outcomes in WA.
4. Extensive experience in leading complex projects relating to animal welfare and/or animal industries.
5. Demonstrated excellence in relationship building, communication and influencing including the ability to negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders such as industry, community and state and federal government representatives.
