Just finished school or looking for a new career?Anglicare has Home Care Worker traineeships available to work with their aged care clients in their homes in the Devonport and Burnie regions. We are offering permanent part-time positions for trainees to work while they complete their study. You will be provided guidance and support to complete the requirements of the qualification.The traineeship will suit people who have their driver’s licence and their own vehicle. As this is a hands-on role, it is most suited to active individuals who can perform manual handling duties.What does a support worker do?The day-to-day job of a Home Care Worker is full of variety and is built around the needs of the person you are supporting. You will support them to live life to the fullest and achieve their personal goals. It may include helping them to carry out daily tasks like:Personal care (showering, grooming and dressing)Medication administrationMeal preparationTransportPurchasesRecord keeping and reportingDomestic assistanceThe role may also involve supporting a person to stay connected with their friends, family and the community, learn new skills, or pursue their personal interests and hobbies.How does the traineeship work?If you are offered a traineeship you will be enrolled in the Certificate III Individual Support course.
