Your new role:
Joining the UNIFIED Head Office team, we are on the look out for a Legal & Business Affairs Coordinator. Reporting into the Head of Legal & Business Affairs, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations for the function.What would a day in the life look like for you?
Lead ongoing maintenance and implementation of legal and business affairs processes (including contracting processes and rights management), identifying and implementing improvements where possible with focus on implantation of technology to improve efficiency.
Act as a key legal and business affairs contact between various departments/group businesses to ensure smooth communication and operations related to legal and business matters.
Prepare agreements from templates for all group businesses, ensuring all documents are prepared accurately and on time.
Maintain and manage contracts databases (Master Agreements List, Dropbox, and hard copies), ensuring up-to-date and accurate information for all contracts and rights related to artists, labels, and other partners.
Assist with artist agreements workflow: Oversee digital signing, filing, database entry, and ensuring smooth integration with the royalties team.
Assist in rights management and copyright infringement matters helping to monitor and resolve issues as they arise.
Provide digital signing support for all legal and business affairs documents.
Maintain the group Trade Mark register and assist with new trade mark applications and portfolio management.
Assist with the management of the Business Affairs (BA) project workflow: Help track project timelines and ensure efficient resource allocation. Key role in large legal and business affairs projects
Support the Head of Legal & Business Affairs in managing key contracts with external partners such as artists, labels, and distributors.
We would love for you to have:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in administrative systems and use of SaaS technology (e.g., Asana (or other workflow management software), Dropbox, etc.). Experience in contract management processes would be an advantage.
Knowledge of intellectual property management, including copyright, trademarks and licensing agreements.
Basic understanding of the music industry and the legal intricacies involved in music business affairs.
Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
