Finance Officer - (Cash Management & Aged Care) (Fixed Term: April – September 2025)
About Central Gippsland Health (CGH)
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale, 215 km east of Melbourne, and serves as an access point to the Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach, and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond, operating across three campuses in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield. Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services, as well as general medical and surgical services and sub-acute services such as rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health, offering placements and clinical experience for students.
About the Finance Team
The Finance team provides comprehensive financial advice and services to CGH, including management accounting, financial accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
About the Role
As a Finance Officer – Incomings (Cash Management & Aged Care), you will provide financial support to the organisation, ensuring efficient cash management and accounts receivable processes. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial services and maintain compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities involved but not limited to:
* Complete bank account reconciliations for CGH, Heyfield, and Stretton Park.
* Prepare and process monthly billing and invoices for Independent Living Unit Maintenance fees, permanent and respite residents, and other aged care services.
* Follow up on aged care debtor accounts and process necessary adjustments.
* Maintain trust account deposits and reconcile aged care financial records with the general ledger.
* Assist in financial reporting, audit preparation, and end-of-month reconciliations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
* Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related field.
* Experience in financial services, preferably in healthcare or aged care settings.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
