About the Project
The Midland Station Cale Street Project is being delivered by the Midland Junction Alliance (MJA) comprising of Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA), McConnell Dowell Pty Limited (MCD), Georgiou Group Pty Limited, BG&E and Arcadis is an alliance that is committed to delivering the Midland Station (Cale Street) Project (MSCS) and associated works in a collaborative way to ensure exceptional results.
With McConnell Dowell as the principal contractor the Midland Station project is a Design and Construct project including but not limited to the following scope;
* - A new train station
* - A new actively protected at-grade level crossing
* - A Multi storey car park
* - A bus station
* - A new rail track alignment including mixed and dual gauge infrastructure
* - A new Overhead Line Equipment system and upgrade of the existing
* - A new signalling system and upgrades to the existing systems
* - A communications system backbone
* - Train Control System updates
* - Operations building, road and civil works, principal shared paths, drainage systems
The project will run until Q2 of 2026 and be built in multiple stages.
About the Role
MCD are currently recruiting for a Rail Track Works to join our team in Perth, Western Australia on a casual basis. Long term opportunities may exist for high performers as part of the wider Mcconell Dowell operational network.
Forming part of the McConnel Dowell track construction team you will be;
* Work under direction of the supervisor, following instructions at all times
* Assist the team to deliver all works relating to rail construction projects
* Ensure that all technical, safety procedures and contract specific requirements are followed and instructed by your supervisor
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment
* Perform general track maintenance as required
* Provided with the opportunity to learn, be upskilled and progress your career in the rail industry
About You
To be successful in this role, the following is preferred;
* - Previous experience on rail construction projects
* - Demonstrate a positive attitude and effective communication skills
* - Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure
* - Trackwork and labouring experience
* - Current C class drivers licence
* - Welding and grinding (desirable)
* - Machine operating experience (desirable)
* - Hi-Rail Excavator certification (desirable)
* - MC/HR Licences (desirable)
* - Construction industry white card (desirable)
* - Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card (desirable)
* - PTA and Arc infrastructure track accreditation
* - Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
