Job Description
Calabria Family Wine Group are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team in Griffith and Hanwood. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
* Install, troubleshoot and repair winery-specific mechanical equipment, which includes but is not limited to primary fermenter, wastewater, pumps, welding, electrical, plumbing and machining
* Perform mechanical tasks such as preventative maintenance, lubrication, filter replacing and repairs to general industrial equipment including but not limited to pumps, barrel machines, refrigeration, boilers, aerators, compressors, etc.
* Prioritize and complete all assigned work orders and track them in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Document all repairs and modifications made
* Disassemble and reassemble equipment; examine and test mechanisms on large and small pieces of machinery, as well as adjust calibration to ensure equipment conforms to specifications and standards
* Take action on unsafe conditions by promptly responding to emergency maintenance calls
* Suggest modifications of equipment and/or processes to improve performance and to increase production
* Provide preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting services for barrel processing equipment and filtration equipment, de-stemmers, presses, crush pits, etc.
* Participate in safety meetings and inspections, incident investigations and other required trainings
* Manage and schedule work with contractors and outside service providers, including compliance with insurance, safety and contractor guidelines
* Provide updates and timely communication to customers
Skills and Abilities:
* Ideally have Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related
* A minimum of three years’ experience
* The ability to work in a team environment
