About the Opportunity Reporting to the Engineering and Technical Services Manager, we're looking for a Control System Technician to join the team at CleanCo's Swanbank Power Station, located in Ipswich.
In this role you will perform various electrical control activities such as fault finding, investigations and analysis on our technically complex 385 MW gas-fired power station, systems and processes.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at our Swanbank Power Station working a Monday to Thursday 36.25-hour roster.
Key responsibilities: Control System Maintenance & Fault Finding – Diagnosing and resolving control system faults by analysing plant alarms to ensure smooth operation of the power station.Compliance & Safety – Conducting zero harm safety interactions weekly and ensuring adherence to environmental compliance standards during maintenance and technical activities.Plant Performance & Optimisation – Monitoring plant efficiency, analysing performance data, and recommending control system improvements to enhance reliability and availability.Project Management & Outages – Leading small projects and plant upgrades, ensuring contract management, scheduling maintenance and supervising contractor work during outages.Technical Leadership & Training – Providing coaching and mentoring to site electrical personnel, delivering technical advice and contributing to training programs.About you Previous experience in a relevant heavy industry plant environment – ideally a modern thermal or gas power station, or similar.Current QLD Electrical qualification and an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.Current Queensland Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Licence or equivalent.Certificate IV in Instrumentation and control or equivalent.Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas (EEHA)An understanding of safe work systems and Electrical Safety Standards.Experience in control system fault finding, root cause analysis and optimisation techniques.An understanding and ability to apply maintenance management principles and plant strategy development.Ability to conceptualise, design, evaluate and implement modifications to improve plant performance and reliability.Demonstrated design and project management skills, ideally from working in the heavy industry.You have a passion to be part of something bigger than yourself, that contributes to the delivery of a clean energy future crafted in Queensland.What We Can Offer We understand that work is just one important aspect of our employee's lives.
