About the role The Maternal Medicine Midwife will be responsible for the triaging and coordination of referrals and appointments for the Maternal Medicine Unit.
The Registered Midwife will provide coordination of patient care throughout their pregnancy with a focus on continuity of care, liaising with patients, booking appointments, and responding to messages.
Registered Midwife Responsibilities: Includes working collaboratively with the MDT Team to ensure appropriate review and follow-up of women going through the Maternal Medicine Unit.
This includes coordinating face-to-face reviews with Obstetricians, Physicians, Specialists, and Midwife appointments, as well as liaising with women and the wider multidisciplinary team in developing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care plans.
The Registered Midwife will facilitate the coordination of the Multidisciplinary clinic meetings associated with the Maternal Medicine Unit and will work out of the Pregnancy Care Clinics.
Job Criteria ESSENTIAL: Registered Nurse/Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Clinical health background with a minimum of 3 years' experienceAdvanced level of midwifery skills and knowledgeWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated commitment to patient-centered careAbility to engage with external stakeholdersAdvanced organisational skillsCritical thinking and confidence in decision makingComputer literacy in Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel, and Patient Management SystemsDESIRABLE: Membership of an appropriate professional associationExperience in ICU/ED, Cardiac, or prior complex medical care in the maternity settingAbout the culture You will have the opportunity to be part of a highly skilled, professional, and dedicated team who take pride in providing high-quality services.
