Department of HealthHospitals & Primary Care - Hospitals SthHospitals Sth - SAA&CSApplications must be submitted by Thursday 27 February, 2025 11:55 PM AESTAward/Classification:Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award, General Stream, Health Services Officers, Level 4Employment type:Part TimeRegion:SouthLocation:The Extended Care Assistant assists patients with personal care needs, as directed by nursing staff.The Role:In consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and/or Registered Nurse, the Extended Care Assistant will assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of a range of diversional therapy programs to assist with daily living.In the role of Extended Care Assistant, you will:Assist the NUM/Registered Nurse to design, implement and evaluate a range of diversional therapy programs that assist the patients with daily living.In accordance with the approved care plan, undertake activity programs to maintain the social, cognitive and psychological skills for patients and undertake the coordination of equipment used for the maintenance and development of these programs.Under the direction of nursing staff, assist in the activities of daily living for patients, including showering, toileting, grooming and feeding.Assist nursing staff with lifting and repositioning of patients.Participate and contribute to staff meetings, ongoing education, quality improvement and the orientation of new staff.Details of appointment:Fixed term part time, shift worker (fully rotation) position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible until 1 June 2025.
