AP/AR, Month-end, Payroll & Analysis Health & fitness business North Sydney location, $90K - $100K + Super Company Accountant - Health & Fitness C ompany Background Our client has been quietly expanding their health & fitness network, working up to an impressive portfolio of assets.
They are now at the stage where they need a trusted pair of finance hands to take the accounts in-house from their bookkeeping firm.
You would work to directly support the owners, providing accurate and meaningful reports & financials to help them as they expand.
It's a fantastic time to join the business, as you will establish this role as your own, and really be valued to support them make financial decisions.
They will offer 2-3 days working from home, depending on business needs, after you have established yourself in the role.
The Role This Company Accountant will be responsible for, well basically everything finance for the business!
You would have the support of the external Accountant.
Responsibilities will include: Weekly payroll for permanent and casual employees (60), including superannuation and any related payments.
Accounts Receivable – working with business managers on overdue accounts Accounts Payable – paying suppliers, overheads, mortgage payments, rents etc., ensuring timely direct debit runs.
Bank reconciliations Franchise payments to corporate head office & setting up new business entities Credit card reconciliations & expense payments Cash-flow forecasting P&L reporting monthly by location through Xero.
Relevant commentary for Directors.
Preparation of year-end accounts for review by an external accountant.
Once these processes are established and working smoothly, they would love someone to do KPI/Performance reporting on membership, sales, products etc.
They would also love to set up solid budgeting & forecasting to track performance over the month.
Your Background You are either a Senior Bookkeeper or SME Accountant.
This means you will have done all the transactional accounting for a business as well as providing month-end reports.
Key requirements are: A hands-on, broad range Accountant who can work independently You are degree qualified.
It would be highly desirable to see someone working towards a CPA or CA if not already attained, however not essential if you have all the right skills & personality.
You have experience with Payroll, P&L reports and strong Excel skills.
Ideally, you will be able to set up workflow, processes and review the existing systems to make improvements.
You have excellent English communication skills and can work with non-finance to explain what is happening in the numbers.
This is key to a successful hire.
You can work autonomously, have strong initiative and will have great enthusiasm to support the business owners with their endeavours.
We are open to Accountants from Bookkeeping or Business services firms who want their first start in commercial accounting.
