About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our Hunter Class line of business based at SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard, reporting to the Shared Infrastructure Engineering Manager.
You will be responsible for providing the technical expertise in support of the delivery of hardware, software, network and transversal services forming the SI System, for deployment on the HCF.
Shared Infrastructure (SI) is a secure and reliable environment, using cloud technology, which both hosts and connects systems.
Key responsibilities include: Work with suppliers to guide technical solutions and define interfaces to the ship, other systems/subsystems and SI Develop SI interface documentation as appropriate across the range of sub systems hosted on SI.Review and support assessment of vendor solutions, specifications, and design data.Engage with the UK based supplier of the SI system to ensure the SI system meets the HCF requirements and the needs of the systems that utilise SI.Contribute to the regular release of SI baselines which encompass a large number of documentation and artefacts.Liaise with SI stakeholders to manage the SI requirements specification.Keep configuration management systems up to date with the latest design data in DOORS, System Architect, Windchill and the Bill of Materials.About YOU Degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent that is appropriate to Shared Infrastructure.Good understanding of the engineering processes and tools used on the HCFP (DOORS, System Architect, Windchill, etc.).Good general background in Systems Engineering, with experience of and an interest in both software and hardware.Systems analysis skills, critical thinking and problem solving.Sound organisational and communication skills.Knowledge of appropriate engineering development methodologies, strategies.Experience of supplier technical management / liaison.Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
