What you'll be doing
The purpose of the Older People’s Mental Health Clinician (Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker) is to:
- provide comprehensive mental health assessment, recovery focussed care planning, evidence based interventions and treatments, and care coordination services to older people residing in the Blacktown local government area who function with a psychiatric syndrome and/or dementia with persistently challenging behaviours.
- develop a therapeutic and collaborative alliance with consumers and carers and work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate a care plan designed to achieve the identified recovery focussed goals, promote independence, well-being and quality of life, develop an understanding of mental illness, and assist the consumer to have a meaningful life in the community.
- ensure safe and optimal outcomes for consumers and carers through the provision of timely and efficient services including the appropriate escalation of care provision during any periods of crisis.

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Social Worker Registration: Demonstrated full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or for Social Workers, eligibility to be a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
