About the Role The Cloud, Quality, and Reliability Engineering team in ANZx is seeking talent as we look to reimagine banking for the future. As part of the team we are also responsible for tooling, methodology and automation to enable rapid cloud adoption, as well as implementing and championing SRE principles to ensure that the cloud delivers the expected performance, reliability and availability to support our business.
And we do this with sound engineering discipline, delivering cloud native security, controls and governance that mean we have a platform we can trust.
What will your day look like? As the Site Reliability Engineering Lead within the Cloud, Quality, and Reliability Engineering at ANZx, you will be responsible for leading the Site Reliability Engineering practice for the retail bank of the future. You will lead multiple squads aligned with each of our critical technology domains, enabling, and taking accountability for the scalability and reliability of our services. You will ensure that our services meet their operational compliance requirements in a provable manner.
You will work with your peers in the Cloud Quality, and Reliability Engineering function to help build an end-to-end value proposition that enables our technology teams to focus on delivering high quality and correct business services.
You will be comfortable working with business leaders across the organisation to understand their delivery and operating challenges, giving them the correct tools and data to manage risk appropriately.
What will you bring? We are looking for engineers that already possess some of the following skills:
Required Experience and Skills Experience leading high performing, medium to large Technology and Engineering functions (~30-100 engineers). Experience developing, managing, and delivering product or service propositions in complex environments. Experience working in highly regulated environments. Experience in building and running systems on the Cloud. Experience partnering with vendors or other third parties. Preferred Skills Ability to advise upon, design, and implement cloud services using security, performance, and reliability best practices. Experience with modern observability tools, with a preference for those with high quality OpenTelemetry integrations. Experience with Logging tools such as Splunk or SumoLogic. Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container orchestration systems. We're making ANZ a great place for engineers to grow.
