Your new role
This role involves collaborating with project teams to enhance an operations systems, designing and supporting applications across cloud and on-premises environments, and ensuring best practices in technology stacks and delivery. Key responsibilities include strategy development, stakeholder engagement, incident management, and working with partners to resolve issues and inform decisions. Additionally, the role supports team development through mentoring, promotes operational efficiency and security, and contributes to team ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven expertise in software development across front-end, back-end, and database systems, supported by relevant ICT qualifications. Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular), legacy frameworks (e.g., JSF), back-end technologies (e.g., Java, Python, Spring Boot), and database platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora DB).
* Strong hands-on experience with cloud solutions, including AWS. Experience with the following services highly regarded: Lambda, S3, EC2, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM, and related technologies. Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, including GitLab, AWS CDK, and AWS CloudFormation is also preferred.
* Skilled in applying Agile principles in the software development lifecycle, developing quality code with attention to detail, and automated testing practices, including test-driven development.
* Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities to address complex technical and business challenges, with a focus on system and process improvement. Awareness of security, accessibility standards (WCAG), and Digital Service Standards.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across geographically dispersed teams, while maintaining strong communication and mentoring skills. Comfortable liaising with stakeholders and vendors to drive solutions and resolve issues efficiently.
