The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of the Quality Control Engineer is to ensure that processes needed for the project quality management system are implemented and maintained on the relevant project selection. This role also facilitates the exchange of information between design and construction departments to ensure a correct and timely communication of any issues or upcoming design changes. This role ensures the promotion of awareness of client quality requirements throughout the relevant project section.
Experience:
Internships, co-op placements or project experience related to quality control engineering will be an advantage. Experience in quality management and construction. Required Competencies:
Good understanding of Quality Specification (Q6) and ISO AS/NZS 9001 requirements. Good understanding of construction, concrete pre-casting processes, methods, and specifications. Good understanding of Infrastructure / Construction specifications. Good communication abilities, both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others. Process oriented, able to analyse complex issues. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across different levels. Sound interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively. Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritise tasks under pressure. Strong initiative and proactive nature. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Well-developed time management skills. High attention to detail. Competent and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word. Ability to learn and use different software systems such as E7. Technical analysis of project Quality procedures, specification and codes. Participates in on-site receiving Inspection of materials. Perform Field inspection, Reporting and monitoring. Preparation and review of Quality documentation. Coordinate and carry out all QA/QC activities for the projects. Assist the Quality Manager to maintain the quality management system on the Project and ensure that the quality management system complies with the Deed, FGJV Quality Management System and ISO 9001 requirements in the geographic area under your responsibility. Prepare and maintain Project system & technical audit schedule and carry-out scheduled audit, draft audit reports and get it approved by the Quality Manager prior to uploading it to Project database. Application of ITPs including calibration control of measuring and testing equipment. Attend external audits as delegated by the Project Quality Manager. Authorised to carry out system audits and raise NCRs and CARs, and follow up Audit outstanding Actions until closure. Verify the implementation of remedial and preventative action proposed in NCRs. Maintain registers of system documents including work lots, ITPs, NCRs, and IMTE. Undertake quality inspections both onsite and in supplier and subcontractor worksites to ensure conformity either prior to delivery or on-site delivery. Verify product compliance by review of work lot records and closing them out upon compliance. Implement and maintain quality system documents and records, and ensure all other records are managed effectively. Assist in lot identification in accordance with project requirements; including both direct and sub-contract works, procured materials and services. Attend regular Quality meetings and construction meetings in your area of responsibility. Prepare submission on the performance of the quality system for inclusion in the project monthly report as directed by the Project Quality Manager. Participate, as required, in Management reviews of the performance of the project quality management system. Request stop work due to quality issues. Review Construction Method Statements, ITPs, and other construction documents to ensure compliance with the relevant Technical Specifications and Design Documentations. Sets challenging and productive goals for the construction team and keeps team accountable for actions. Builds strong relationships, is flexible/open-minded, negotiates effectively, solicits performance feedback, and handles constructive criticism.
