Make an impact at Serco
As a Custodial Officer, you will be responsible for the supervision, care, rehabilitation, and reintegration of inmates at Acacia Prison. You will ensure the safety and security of both inmates and staff, while fostering a positive environment that promotes respect and dignity. You will play a key role in supporting inmates throughout their sentence, helping them engage in programs that promote rehabilitation and reintegration. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Wooroloo, WA.
As a Custodial Officer at Acacia Prison, you’ll make a positive impact by:
* Ensuring the safety and security of inmates and the facility through effective supervision and dynamic security practices.
* Supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates by encouraging engagement in education, employment, and programs.
* Conducting searches, responding to incidents, and preparing accurate reports in line with policies and procedures.
* Building positive relationships with inmates, staff, and stakeholders, treating everyone with dignity and respect.
* Promoting a culturally sensitive environment by respecting the diversity of inmates and staff.
* Playing an active role in maintaining a safe and secure environment by following health and safety protocols.

* A Certificate III in Correctional Practice, or the willingness to obtain it within the first year of employment (full training will be provided).

* A commitment to working within a culturally sensitive and diverse environment.
* Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role, including control and restraint requirements.
* A valid Driver’s Licence
