About the Iona Presentation Foundation
The Iona Presentation Foundation is a not-for-profit organization created in 2024 to empower young West Australians through Catholic education. Our vision is to continue the Western Australian Presentation Sisters' mission of building dynamic learning experiences and promoting social justice.
We support Presentation schools across Western Australia with various initiatives, including:
* Iona Presentation College Scholarship Fund: Offering scholarships for students who wish to attend Iona Presentation College.
* Iona Presentation College Building Fund: Supporting the building masterplan of Iona Presentation College.
* WA Presentation Schools Bursary Fund: Offering bursaries to students who wish to attend any of the nineteen WA Presentation schools, including Iona Presentation College.
Primary Purpose of the Role
To provide strategic leadership, operational management, and governance oversight to the Iona Presentation Foundation, ensuring the organization achieves its mission and objectives in alignment with its core values and vision. The Executive Officer will play a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth by prioritizing and leading fundraising efforts to secure the financial resources necessary for the Foundation's programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
* Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan to achieve key goals and measurable outcomes.
* Provide strategic and operational leadership to implement and manage goals, strategies, plans, and policies aligned with the Foundation's mission.
* Foster partnerships and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including schools' staff, alumni, parents/guardians, external suppliers, and friends of the Foundation.
Governance and Compliance:
* Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations in all Foundation activities.
* Work with the Board of Directors to maintain strong governance practices and achieve the Foundation's mission and objectives.
* Attend all Council Board meetings and Sub-Committee meetings and ensure that all decisions taken by the Council are communicated and implemented effectively.
Fundraising and Development:
* Attend to the strategy, planning, design, and execution of all major fundraising activities and events.
* Develop and implement the strategy, planning, design, and delivery of the Foundation Stewardship Program, engaging donors, volunteers, and staff.
* Oversee and expand the Gifts in Wills Program, ensuring excellent stewardship.
* Facilitate the College's annual fundraising initiatives.
Investment and Financial Management:
* Liaise with and provide direction to the Foundation's Investment Wealth Managers.
* Coordinate all activities and communications for the Finance & Compliance Sub-Committee.
* Collaborate with the Board Treasurer to prepare and coordinate financial statements and internal reporting for the Finance & Compliance Sub-Committee and Foundation Board.
Company Secretary and Governance Duties:
* Organize all Foundation Council and Sub-Committee meetings, including the preparation and dispatch of agendas, briefing materials, and minutes.
* Ensure compliance with Foundation Council policies and procedures, and update policies as required.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
* Serve as the public face of the organization, representing the Foundation at events, forums, and functions.
* Actively promote the Foundation's mission, objectives, and achievements to WA Presentation Schools alumni, parents/guardians, and the wider community.
Manage College Scholarship & Bursary Programs:
* Oversee the Foundation Scholarships and Bursary Programs from the application process through to annual review.
* Liaise closely with Presentation Schools finance departments to ensure compliance with agreed School processes.
Operational and Administrative Activities:
* Ensure all Foundation administrative duties are carried out efficiently and effectively.
* Administer the Foundation's fundraising and donor acquisition programs in accordance with good governance principles and referencing WA Presentation school policies.
Essential Criteria:
* Proven experience in executive leadership roles, with the ability to operate independently and efficiently.
* Strong understanding of governance and compliance requirements, including legal and ethical obligations in the not-for-profit sector.
* A successful track record in creating, leading, and executing strategic fundraising initiatives.
