QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities. About the role You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing exceptional project and program management expertise. Duties and skills involved: Strategically plan and deliver projects that demonstrate measurable value, achieve efficiencies, and fulfil defined outcomes for partner agencies. Provide high-level supervision across planning, procurement, and execution of construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects, aligned with QBuild standards and organisational goals. Effectively manage regional resources to ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice standards, enhancing operational excellence and governance. Employ strategic work order management to monitor project standards and report on quality, expenditure, and service delivery, ensuring compliance with industry standards and stakeholder expectations. Develop and implement efficient procurement frameworks and processes to enhance contract management and administration across the region. Oversee the delivery of complex, high-risk construction and maintenance projects, ensuring strategic oversight and risk mitigation. Discharge responsibilities as superintendent's representative, overseeing trade and subcontract work to uphold quality and compliance standards. Strengthen client relationships through transparent communication, effective negotiation, and consistent project delivery, fostering collaborative engagement. Enhance supervisory skills in technical, project management, and program maintenance areas through targeted developmental opportunities, preparing for future workforce needs. Foster a healthy and safe work environment that adheres to contemporary human resource principles, including equity, anti-discrimination, and workplace health and safety.
