About the role
The Prudentials team is responsible for monitoring financial positions, assessment of collateral requirements and execution of all market clearing for electricity and gas market participants in accordance with the National Electricity Rules and National Gas Rules and supporting Procedures. The role is fast-paced, operationally focused with time sensitive tasks and frequent stakeholder engagement as well as working together as a team. You will also contribute to the delivery of projects within the team and more broadly for the energy industry.

What you will be doing
* Time sensitive financial assessment and prudential monitoring activities across the energy markets operated by AEMO, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance
* Electricity and gas market clearing
* Build relationships and work closely with external stakeholders
* Work together with your team to deliver projects and ensure timely delivery of all activities
* Maintain and improve processes, stored documentation and procedures
* Undertake analysis of energy market data and dynamics to inform decision making
* Identify, manage and resolve operational issues in a timely manner to ensure prudential and clearing obligations are met
* When Rule or Procedure changes are identified, assist in the impact analysis on internal business processes and systems and work closely with the IT support teams to identify, define and test improvements and bug fixes
* Creating reports using SQL and maintaining and/or building VBA and/or PowerBI tools to support operational activities
What you will bring to the role
* Passion for energy with an understanding of the energy sector
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering, finance, technical, business or related discipline
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* Thrive in a team environment and be an effective team player
* Experience working within a similar analytical or operational role in a regulated environment will be highly regarded
* High attention to detail, coupled with an ability to meet deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
* Some experience working with MS Excel, SQL, VBA, PowerBI or Python well regarded but not required
* Excellent analytical skills
