Due to the influx of student applicants and growth within the area the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will play a major role to achieve the Department’s strategic plan; contribute to the Department’s undergraduate and post graduate teaching programs, enhancing the standing of the faculty’s courses; undertake research and publish in high-quality national and international journals and make strong contribution to the Department’s research agenda and in enhancing disciplinary profile. They will actively participate in and secure external research funding; foster relationships with research, industry, community, government, and professional partners including higher education institutions; and enhance the scholarly reputation of the University.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Contributing to the Department’s teaching programs at undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision at honours and/or doctoral levels.
2. Undertaking and publishing high quality research in the leading journals of the discipline (e.g., Bo8, FT).
3. Actively contributing to the development of the Department’s research agenda, including a strong performance in Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA).
4. Participating in competitive external research funding activities.
5. Participating in activities which enhance the school’s disciplinary profile and reputation.
6. Fostering relationships with research, community, industry, government, and professional partners and with other higher education institutions.
7. Enhancing the scholarly reputation of the University.
Key selection criteria for this role:
8. PhD in either Information Systems; Business Analytics; Management of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies or a closely related Business field.
9. A focus in research and teaching on emerging technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, Blockchain, or other emerging technologies)
10. Experience of teaching in Business Analytics/ AI or Digital Management Courses and/or Course Management (i.e., Course Director) would be a distinct advantage.
11. Expected or demonstrated ability for lecturing, teaching innovation and curriculum development in Information Systems or related business field at both undergraduate and/or postgraduate level is essential.
12. An outstanding record of research and scholarship and demonstrated leadership and research expertise in Information Systems.
13. A Level B/C Academic is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of a Department, School, Faculty or other organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area.
14. An Academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.
