The council prioritizes urban design, infrastructure projects, and transport planning to create a better living environment.
Your new role involves reporting to an experienced procurement specialist.
Key responsibilities include:
* Facilitating collaboration between diverse stakeholders and procurement teams to align objectives and achieve effective procurement outcomes
* Leading negotiation activities across various tenders, including high-value and high-risk procurements
* Maintaining quality supplier relationships and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships to drive successful project delivery
* Driving internal branding in procurement, working proactively with stakeholders on sourcing and contracts management activities
* Analysis and reporting of supplier performance, spend, supply chain risks, and contracts management activities to identify opportunities for improvement
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 5 years' strategic procurement experience in the public sector or a complex commercial organization
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, supply chain, contracts management, or similar
* CIPS certification or equivalent
* A customer-centric mindset and ability to deliver solutions for both internal stakeholders and the wider community
* Demonstrable knowledge of legal and commercial components of contracts
* Ability to start at short notice and flexibility to work on a contract basis
