About the role
The Director Funding Arrangements is a key member of The Authority’s leadership team, providing central strategic leadership, direction and administration of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DFRA) across NSW, and delivering fast and secure funding relief to NSW communities impacted by disaster.
The Director has four to five direct reports and reports to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer. This role will establish and oversee a framework for effective management of bilateral funding arrangements and requests between NSW and the Australian Government, collaborating with the National Emergency Management Agency, NSW Government agencies, local councils, NSW communities and across the Authority to raise awareness and effectiveness of the DRFA across the State.
The Director leads and builds workforce capability and establishes relationships and standing arrangements that allow the Authority to significantly scale-up its recovery work in regions impacted by disasters.
About you
High calibre candidates will hold tertiary accounting or finance qualifications and CPA/CA qualified or have demonstrated equivalent industry/professional experience. They will have a extensive experience operating in a complex environment with multiple sources of authority, high levels of specialist expertise, and competing interests, including the management of politically sensitive issues. Strong candidates will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and an ability to deliver outcomes while working in a dynamic environment.
Courage and resilience, integrity and a customer service orientation are critical for this role, as are the abilities to manage priorities, influence and negotiate.
