The Real Review is Australia & New Zealand's leading digital wine review publication. In recent years we have been growing leaps and bounds. Now is the right time for a creative and strategic Marketing Lead to drive our growth and oversee our product and sales activities. This covers all our entire product offering, including end user subscriptions, trade subscriptions for wineries, retailers, distributors and restaurants, promotional tools (videos, stickers etc) as well as our wine events across Australia and New Zealand.
Your role
This is an exciting opportunity for a marketing professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Working part-time (50%), you'll lead our marketing strategy and multiple customer-facing resources while helping shape the future of wine media in Australia and New Zealand.

Time commitment & location
* 50% part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week)
* Flexible work arrangement with minimum 1 day per week in our Alexandria office
A typical week will look like this:
* 1 day: Team management and administrative tasks
* 1 day: Strategy and sales campaign execution
* 0.5 day: Financial and marketing ROI analysis
The Ideal Candidate
* Brings a friendly attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Has experience in or understanding of the wine industry, particularly in managing relationships with wineries and retailers
* Is a digital native who can effortlessly navigate CRM tools like Hubspot and support systems such as Recurly, Xero, Eventbrite
* Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to work independently
* Is systematic and organised
Key Responsibilities
Marketing strategy & execution
* Develop and implement marketing strategies across our product portfolio
* Lead marketing initiatives for consumer subscriptions, trade memberships, and events
* Manage and optimize our social media presence
* Create and execute sales campaigns
* Analyze marketing ROI and provide revenue reporting
Team leadership
Oversee a diverse team including:
* Customer Success specialist (offshore - remote)
* CRM specialist
* Event sales and delivery staff
* Social media resources
You will also participate in yearly / quarterly content pipeline development with our wine content contributors
Events
* Develop innovative event formats aligned with our content strategy
* Oversee event planning, sales, and delivery
* Create and execute ticket sales campaigns
* Manage trade partnerships and sales
Customer service
* Supervise customer service operations, including customer support, winery data management and wine image requests by our Customer Success Specialist
* Oversee promotional tool sales and technical support
* Monitor and analyze customer churn
Required skills & experience
Ideally proven marketing experience in some of the following sectors:
* Wine industry
* Digital content & subscription products
* Event management
Strong proficiency with digital tools:
* CRM platforms (e.g., Hubspot)
* Subscription management (e.g., Recurly)
* Accounting software (e.g., Xero)
* Project management tools (Asana, Slack)
* Google Workspace
Leadership skills:
* Excellent analytical and reporting skills
* Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Also you will have high-speed internet access for effective remote work.
