Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) is a critical service delivery organisation centred in Shepparton in north central Victoria. GVW’s core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable and affordable water services to customers. From the outskirts of Melbourne in the south to the Murray River in the north, the organisation is an integral part of the social and economic fabric of the region, delivering services to a population of over 125,000 across 54 towns. With a growing population, changing climate and evolving customer needs, the General Manager Strategy & Planning will play a key role in responding to current challenges and prepare the organisation for the future.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager, Strategy and Performance will play a critical leadership role as part of the executive team in shaping the organisation to achieve its vision. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, this role is crucial in leading strategic planning, non-infrastructure business initiatives, enterprise architecture, performance reporting while having accountability for the digital program and technology roadmap. As a member of the corporate executive team, this role will build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and organizational excellence. This includes ensuring safety, service, performance and regulatory compliance are a priority, whilst actively driving change to enhance customer service, safety and efficiency.
To be considered for this role you will have significant senior management or executive experience in a large, complex service delivery enterprise, and an understanding of organizational system design, including core processes, technology, and organizational alignment. Responding to growth, the challenge of climate change and financial constraints, you have a track record in delivering strategic initiatives with outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills. You bring experience in identifying opportunity for change, and prioritising and implementing transformational change initiatives
