The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects in the field of immuno-oncology with collaborators within and outside of Peter Mac.Key Responsibilities:Design and apply analytical approaches to data from emerging high-throughput sequencing single cell sequencing to investigate the role of the immune system in cancer.Minimum Qualifications:PhD in relevant scientific field such as bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, or immunology with subsequent training in bioinformaticsAn excellent academic recordPrevious experience in working in the field of immunologyAdvanced data analysis, data science, or statistical skills in a scientific contextAbility to design analyses based on scientific questionsStrong desire to combine different platforms and bioinformatics techniques to address questions in cancerAn interest in performing cutting-edge research using the latest technologiesExhibit a high degree of professionalism and respect for othersGood verbal and written communication skillsExperience with transcriptomics, single-cell data, or spatial analysisProficiency/experience with specific single cell analysis packages (Seurat/Scanpy)Ability to develop novel algorithms or statistical analysis approachesAdvanced programming skills in a scripting programming language such as R or PythonExperience with Linux OSPublications as lead author or co-authorDemonstrated skill in statistical analysisExperience collaborating with biologistsApplicants to this role should provide a covering letter outlining relative key skills and experience to assist us with our assessment.For further information about this opportunity, click Apply to be redirected to the Peter Mac Careers page where you can review the position summary.
