Our client is a growing contractor who specialise in the delivery of civil construction and mining services to tier one miners throughout the Pilbara region. With an inhouse fleet of over 100 pieces of plant and equipment, along with business units located in Perth and throughout the wider Pilbara region, the business is well placed to continue their growth.Key to their future growth strategy is the appointment of a General Manager who will be responsible for driving growth and implementing strategies to maximise business profitability and the reduction of costs. This is a senior management role reporting to the CEO, responsible for leading staff to deliver projects across all business units.Our client is keen to speak to candidates with prior experience working in senior management positions for civil and mining contractors. With a strong working knowledge of civil construction scopes including bulk earthworks, structural concrete works, plumbing and waste management. This is a residential role to be based from Tom Price or Karratha and requires regular travelling throughout the state.DutiesOversee daily operations and make adjustments as necessary.Provide high-level executive assistance to the CEO, including preparation of correspondence, reports, budgets and work plans.Executing the business growth plan while achieving or exceeding business P & L objectives.Provide on-site leadership for project teams and supervisors by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.Creating a positive and motivating atmosphere in the company and providing better growth opportunities for the employees.Identification and management of core issues and risks.Develop, recommend and implement business plans, operational requirements, organizational structure, staffing and budgets that support business strategies.Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the Company in the wider community.Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation, as needed.Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions and maintain supplier relationships.Identify and develop new business opportunities that either expand on current business or have the potential to generate new revenue streams.Work with the HR Department to determine position selection criteria, participate and conduct job interviews and reference checks.Conduct probation and annual performance reviews including providing feedback both positive and constructive to employees and assisting with the creation of development plans in alignment with employee and company goals.Criteria3-5 years’ experience in General Management or a similar high level management role.Master of Business Administration or equivalent practical experience.Trade qualification in construction or relevant practical experience.Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and MS Project.Proficiency in Project Management Software.Strong Leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business units.Experience in handling contracts, estimating, project management.Australian main contractor experience.Experience working on civil and mining projects in WA’s mining and resources sector (ideally Rio Tinto experience).MUST HAVE FULL AUSTRALIAN WORKING RIGHTS.On OfferCompetitive salary / package dependent on candidate experience ($250,000 - $350,000 per annum as a guide).Company vehicle.Rent, utilities and phone.Super.Opportunity to lead a growing business.Discretional bonus scheme.To express your interest please ‘click’ apply or send your resume to ************@cgcrecruitment.com.
