We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our team as an Individual Support Trainee to work with our Host Employer.
During the Traineeship, you will begin working full-time 38 hours per week, while studying a Certificate III in Individual Support.
As an Individual Support Trainee, you will be placed with one of our Host Employers and play a crucial role in assisting individuals with their daily living activities, promoting their independence, and enhancing their overall well-being. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals, learning essential skills and gaining practical experience in providing person-centered care to a diverse range of clients.
Duties may include but not limited to:
* Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support individuals in maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
* Foster a positive and empowering atmosphere that promotes independence and dignity.
* Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients.
* Help individuals with meal preparation and nutritional support.
* Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or mental conditions to the appropriate personnel.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individual care plans.
* Maintain accurate documentation and records related to client care.
* Sleep over shifts
* Any other tasks reasonably requested by the host employer
Applicants will ideally meet the following criteria:
* Be eligible to complete a traineeship
* Genuine passion for working with people and a commitment to making a positive impact in their lives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy, patience, and the ability to show compassion.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules.
* A willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced professionals.
* Must be willing to undertake a Certificate III in Individual Support as part of the traineeship.
Essential requirements
* Driver’s license and reliable transport
* Ability to provide a National Police Check
* Able to obtain a Blue/Yellow Card
* Applicants must be able to provide documentation of vaccinations, including those related to Flu/Covid-19 if required.
