About the role:
The Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to the commercial teams in all the international markets in which the company is settled (USA, UK, NE/BE), as well as in markets in which it intends to expand in the future (EU, LATAM, ASIA, etc.). This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure that commercial/financial goals are aligned with the company's overall objectives. The Commercial Finance Manager will lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, deliver accurate financial reporting, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.
* Use financial models to evaluate the financial impact of strategic decisions and market entry opportunities (Europe, LATAM, APAC, etc.).
* Continuously improve financial modelling techniques and tools to enhance accuracy and reliability.
* Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
* Analyse financial performance against forecasts, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and variances.
* Provide detailed financial analysis, including profitability analysis, margin analysis, and cost-benefit analysis, to support decision-making.
* Work closely with commercial teams to provide financial guidance and support for business initiatives, such as product launches, pricing strategies, and market expansions.
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, offering financial insights and recommendations to drive growth and profitability.
* Develop performance scorecards (including Finance, Commercial/Customer, Marketing, Supply Chain, Regs/Legal, JBP, Strategy Execution) to support business monitoring and reporting.
* Manage the project of setting up a Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for UK/EU (and then other markets), reconciliation of financial inputs/sales to demand planning and presentation into S&OP meetings.
* Prepare and present quarterly/yearly management accounts, financial reports, and board reporting packs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Develop and maintain dashboards and other reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into financial performance.
* Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements, including statutory and regulatory reporting.
* Monitor and control operating costs (COGS, freight, SOR, Direct & Indirect costs, etc.), identifying opportunities for cost efficiency.
* Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, working closely with operational teams to achieve financial targets.
* Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations for optimizing resource allocation.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing risk management strategies as needed.
* Lead the project team to understand GDPR requirements, develop Data Protection Policies, and set up GDPR processes.
* Analyse existing financial processes to identify areas for improvement and standardization.
* Develop and implement optimized processes and harmonised reporting within the Group.
* Ensure processes are aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience:
* Proficient in financial principles, accounting, financial reporting, and financial modelling.
* Skilled in analysing complex financial data, deriving insights, and solving financial issues.
* Deep understanding of business environment, industry trends, and market dynamics.
* Knowledgeable in KPIs and their impact on business decisions.
* Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
* Strategic thinking and financial guidance to support business growth.
* Expertise in leveraging technology for financial processes and reporting.
* Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Power Query, Power BI.
* Familiarity with financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, financial reporting software).
* 7+ years in financial modelling, FP&A, and project management.
* Provided financial guidance to commercial/operations teams.
* Strategic partner to senior management with financial insights.
* Adaptable, quick learner across various subjects.
* Managed financial projects from planning to completion.
* Thrived in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
* Built strong relationships in cross-functional teams and managed senior stakeholders.
* Master's degree in finance.
* Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Office suite, PowerBI, Power Query.
