What you'll do
As an Aircraft Structural Technician, you’ll maintain, service and repair primary and secondary structures on some of the world’s most advanced military aircraft, such as the P-8A Poseidon, C-17A Globemaster III or F-35A Lightning II.
The nature of this role means there is plenty of variety and opportunities to apply your trade. Your day-to-day tasks could include:
1. Handling and replenishing aircraft flight lines
2. Removing and installing aircraft components
3. Manufacturing and repairing aircraft plumbing and ducting
4. Conducting heat treatment and welding on aluminium and alloys
5. Maintaining tools and machinery used on aircraft
6. Preparing and using aircraft support equipment
7. Identifying aircraft technical equipment and spares
8. Preparing and packaging technical equipment for transport
9. Amending and maintaining technical publications
10. Inspection, maintenance, servicing, repair and fault diagnosis, manufacture, assembly, removal and installation of primary and secondary structure of aircraft and associated components including the wings, flight control surfaces, fuselage, and engine structure.
