Administration Officer - Part-time, Ongoing
St Michael’s School, Bassendean is a single stream co-educational school with an enrolment of approximately 260 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. The school was established in 1914 by the Sisters of Mercy and we maintain a close relationship with St Joseph's Parish. This is an opportunity to join a vibrant school community, where staff work collaboratively with families to create a safe and welcoming community for all, whilst supporting every student to reach their full potential.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Administration Officer to join our dedicated staff. The successful applicant will become the welcoming face of our school. Duties will include, but are not limited to, responding to phone and in person enquiries, student support including first aid, distribution of medications and health care plans, accounts payable and receivable, and management of student attendance data. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the school’s Leadership and Administration Teams to support all staff, students and families. This is a part-time, ongoing position four days per week, 40 weeks per annum (0.7 FTE).

• Provide exceptional service to create a warm and welcoming experience for students, families, staff and the wider community.
• Demonstrated skills in establishing effective working relationships, as well as the ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgement and a pro-active approach to problem solving.
• Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Well developed skills for using Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience in general finance, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Knowledge of school administration systems, such as SEQTA and AOS, is desirable.
Qualifications Required
Must have, or be willing to obtain:
• Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Current National Police History Check as issued by the Department of Education.
• Current Working with Children Check.
