The Role
Abervale retirement village is perfectly positioned in the leafy Geelong suburb of Grovedale, surrounded by landscaped gardens and boasting a vibrant community of retirees.
Working under the guidance of the Village Manager, you will be assisting with all gardening activities such as:
1. Maintenance of common garden areas including mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, pruning, picking up leaves/rubbish, green waste management, and tools/equipment maintenance.
As you will be working alongside a team and our many residents, a customer-service focus is essential, along with a genuine interest in assisting the elderly.
Your Background
1. Current Australian Drivers Licence
2. Demonstrated Gardening knowledge of plants, growth patterns, safe work practices for fertilisers and other chemicals
3. Understanding of machinery use and tools required for the job
4. Organisation skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks whilst working independently
5. Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety legislation
The shifts:
1. Permanent part-time – 2 days during the week (Monday-Friday) of your choosing!

Please note: The successful applicant must complete a Police Check & will be required to receive an annual flu vaccination between the months of April-October, with supporting documentation prior to joining.
