About the Team
Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About the Opportunity
The purpose of a school-based traineeship (SBAT) is to provide an individual with the opportunity to gain exposure to skills and knowledge in a particular trade through completing on the job training and completing an approved course of formal vocational training by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) and studied through a registered training provider such as TAFE whilst fulfilling the training requirements of an SBAT in NSW/ACT and achieving a Nationally recognised qualification.
This position provides a work entry program providing grounding in safety and basic skills and knowledge for work in any electrotechnology discipline & a pathway into an apprenticeship
* Attend TAFE/RTO to learn the theory of the trade.
* Fulfil the requirements of the RTO endorsed training plan in time allocated in particular:
1. Enrol and attend TAFE/RTO
2. Make a commitment to study vocational training and complete TAFE Assessments to the best of your ability.
3. Demonstrate skills acquired through competency-based training assessments.
* Undertake and complete SafeWork white card
* Undertake and complete Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) training
* Maintain workplace records to meet evidentiary requirements for the SBAT contract of 120 days worked.
